1. Sing Sing Guided Walking Tour around the Sing Sing Prison (Outside) 1 mile 2. Lunch in Tarry Town. (You Will have 1hr to shop and grab Lunch on your own)

3. We will Tour the Washington Irving's Home Sunnyside home and enjoy the grounds during this special Legend of Sleepy Hollow-themed tour of the estate.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF SATURDAY OCT 19th

1st The Director, Amy Hufnagel, will take us on a Private walk along the Hudson River and around the edges of the Sing Sing Correctional Facility. The tour called , Sink or Sing: A Walking Tour about Crime, Punishment, Labor, and the Hudson River Region, is part of the Hudson River Valley Ramble. From the Hudson River School of Art and a bustling port community to the walled fortress of a maximum-security prison, there is so much to explore and see in a mile radius. Learn about the building of the 1825 original cell block, the quarrying of Sing Sing marble, the origin of the US penal philosophy and design. We will also discuss the labor that built this place, products developed here, and some innovative examples of reform and rehabilitation. This tour offers some dark history in a stunningly beautiful place. The tour will end with a reflective art making project to link us back to the Hudson River School.
