WHAT ARE THE DYKER HEIGHTS X-MAS LIGHTS? 

 Like the Alps in winter, and Paris in the spring, Dyker Heights at Christmas has earned its stripes as a premier Brooklyn seasonal attraction.  Visiting Dyker Heights at Christmas is a "thing", a cultural phenomenon that's part of the lifeblood of Brooklyn's remarkable slew of traditions. Not only are the area's displays beautiful, the experience is fun, memorable, and really worth a visit, especially if you get excited about Holiday traditions.  What’s not to love about all that razzle-dazzle to get you in the Holiday spirit?  

The Kings County neighborhood in Brooklyn is home to the most over-the-top Christmas light decorations with life-size Santas, sleighs, snowmen and some houses even bump Christmas carols from loudspeakers. 

Crowds of all ages flock to the nabe to wander down the multiple blocks and avenues and experience one of the top things to do in NYC in the winter.  When people think about holiday decorations in New York City, they usually think of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree and the lavish store window displays of Midtown Manhattan.  Starting in the 1980s, Christmas started getting bigger and brighter out in Brooklyn with each passing year. In 2019, expect to see massive, professionally-done light displays (some costing upwards of $20,000!).

1st. Dyker's main shopping street (5th Ave). You can visit my favorite Pizza in Brooklyn. The Pizza Wagon! Great fresh pizza.. One of the best slices in Brooklyn, maybe in all of NYC. The pizza is cooked just right with the right amount of cheese and sauce. Slices are always fresh and they have a Starbucks for a Hot cup of your favorite Holiday Hot Drink.  

2nd. Bay Ridge Lights (Secret Stop)  

3rd. We will visit the famous blocks to see Christmas lighting displays ranging from modest to extravagant, where some homeowners spend upward of $20,000 dollars to claim the unofficial title of the best-dressed house. This is a walking tour. Some of the homes have waterfalls! Put on your Gaudy pants, we are off to see a Brooklyn Spectacular show.  

4. See the house described as “Christmas meets Las Vegas” "Sam the Greek house"  Please bring a water bottles, dress warmly, and wear a comfortable pair of shoes as we'll be doing some walking hotstuff
